
Mile 39.4 - Lock 26, also known as Wood's Lock
At the head of the lock, there's a fork in the canal. Part of the water is drawn off into this bypass when the lock is closed and flows around lock.
The bypass flows around the lock in a stream, the remains which you can see here, marked by stones. This is sometimes called a "mule drink".
Okay, there's not much left of the lockhouse, just the foundation!
